The incumbent serves as a term senior Attorney-Advisor and performs duties in one of the Legal Division's primary four offices: General Law &amp; Ethics, Law &amp; Policy, Litigation, or Oversight.</p> <div> <h4 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Responsibilities</b></h4> <p>The following are the duties of this position at the CN-71, broadly equivalent to the GS-15. If you are selected at a lower grade level, your duties will be adjusted accordingly. Attorneys at CFPB may be eligible for promotions subject to the Bureau's Attorney Hiring &amp; Promotion Policy.</p> <ul> <li> Represent the Bureau in complex oversight engagements with Congressional oversight bodies, including committees of jurisdiction and the Government Accountability Office.</li> <li> Advise Bureau components on responses to oversight inquiries.</li> <li> Research and analyze legal and novel issues arising from oversight inquiries, CFPB policy options, and CFPB procedures.</li> <li> Conduct internal investigations to respond effectively to complex oversight inquiries.</li> <li> Provide analysis and advice to internal stakeholders on a variety of complex legal and policy matters</li> </ul> <p><b> If you are selected at the CN-71 your official job title will be Attorney Advisor (Senior Counsel).</b></p> <p><b> If you are selected at the CN-60 your official job title will be Attorney Advisor (Counsel).</b></p> <p></p> <p><b> Travel Required</b></p> <ul> <li> Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.</li> </ul> <p><b> Promotion Potential</b></p> <ul> <li> None - Applicants will be selected at any one of the advertised grades based on experience and accomplishments.
