The Corporate and Transactions Attorney invests in our Purpose by applying their transactional experience to provide legal counsel and guidance to Supply Chain Management (commercial contracts), Fleet Transactions ( aircraft acquisition and finance), Treasury (bank agreements), Finance (credit facilities), and Fuel Strategy and Management (fuel related commercial contracts). This role may also expand their support to additional workgroups, includi ng Investor Relations, Sustainability, and other groups as needed. The Corporate &amp; Transactions Attorney is client service-oriented and a strategic problem solver who is excited to broaden their skillsets and explore unfamiliar subject matter while working alongside our business partners. <br> <br> <b>Additional Details:</b> <br> The culture of Southwest Airlines means we embrace a flexible workplace and value the camaraderie, collaboration, and innovation that occurs when we come together and interact face-to-face at our vibrant Corporate Campus. This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week. The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site. <br> <br> U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S. required and no current or future work authorization sponsorship available . <br> <br> Southwest Airlines is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We continue to look for opportunities to reflect the communities we serve, and welcome applicants with diverse thoughts, backgrounds, and experiences. <br>Responsibilities <br>Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements <br>Analyze and interpret existing Company agreements to provide legal advice and guidance <br>Provide legal counsel and guidance regarding applicable laws, regulations, and policies to multiple departments within the Company <br>Collaborate with legal department colleagues on a variety of legal, regulatory and policy issues <br>Provide legal support and advice to support compliance with the Company’s corporate policies <br>Perform other duties requiring legal research and analysis and/or negotiations as may be requested <br>May be required to perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders <br>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities <br>Skilled in written and oral communication, ability to work effectively with all levels of Southwest Employees, Southwest executives, clients, outside counsel, vendors, and others <br>Skilled in interpersonal relationships, ability to work well with others as part of a team <br>Ability to perform well under pressure <br>Ability to exercise judgment sufficient to handle and resolve issues related to sensitive and confidential legal matters <br>Ability and willingness to gain expertise and perform work in new areas of the law <br>Ability to be proactive, have excellent organizational skills, and perform efficiently and effectively on multiple projects under tight deadlines Education <br><b>Required:</b> High School Diploma or GED <br><b>Required:</b> Bachelor’s Degree <br><b>Required:</b> Law degree from accredited school <br>Experience <br>Intermediate level experience, expansive and far reaching knowledge as a licensed practicing attorney with a practice focus on corporate law and commercial transactions <br>Licensing/Certification <br>Must be a current member in good standing of a bar association <br>Physical Abilities <br>Ability to perform work duties from work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time <br>Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job <br>Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job <br>Other Qualifications <br>Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines <br>Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986 <br>Must be at least 18 years of age <br>Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines <br>Must be willing to travel when required for the job <br>Must be able to work flexible schedule to include non-business days and hours as needed to meet client needs <br> <br> <b>Pay &amp; Benefits:</b> <br> Competitive market salary from $161,500 per year to $175,000 per year* depending on qualifications and experience.
