With the largest community of clients in healthcare, Veradigm is able to deliver an integrated platform of clinical, financial, connectivity and information solutions to facilitate enhanced collaboration and exchange of critical patient information.</p> </div> <p> Location: This is a REMOTE opportunity</p> <p> The purpose of this position is to advise and provide compliance, legal and regulatory support to in-house clients concerning Veradigm's business, products and services.</p> <p> Responsibilities:</p> <p> Advise on compliance, legal and regulatory aspects of Veradigm's activities including the following:</p> <ul> <li>Assist the Chief Compliance Counsel in implementing and enhancing Veradigm's compliance program.</li> <li>Advise company personnel regarding compliance, legal and regulatory matters impacting the health IT sector, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, 21st Century Cures Act, information blocking compliance, HIPAA, etc.</li> <li>Effectively partner with marketing, product and other personnel across Veradigm to review and provide guidance on proposed advertising, product related communications and issues, digital social media engagement and scientific / research materials and other initiatives to help ensure for compliance with applicable laws and company policies.</li> <li>Draft/review, negotiate, and approve commercial transactions as needed to ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies.</li> <li>Develop new and enhance existing compliance-related policies and procedures.</li> <li>Develop and deliver compliance and legal training to employees concerning a variety of topics.</li> <li>Conduct investigations of alleged violations of laws, regulations and company policies in close collaboration with other legal, HR and / or internal audit personnel.</li> <li>Identify compliance risk areas through a risk assessment process and other means and implement plans to resolve compliance issues.</li> <li>Design and implement compliance monitoring and testing.</li> <li>All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.</li> </ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p><b> Academic and professional qualifications</b></p> <ul> <li>Undergraduate degree and JD (must be from an accredited law school)</li> <li>In good standing and admitted to at least one state bar in the United States</li> </ul> <p><b>Experience</b></p> <ul> <li>Minimum 5-10 years of compliance, legal and regulatory experience as inhouse counsel or a corporate compliance professional working for a life science and/or health IT company required.</li> <li>Deep understanding of and experience with providing advice concerning healthcare fraud and abuse laws, including the Federal Anti-Kickback Statute and False Claims Act, as well as the 21st Century Cures Act and information blocking compliance required.</li> <li>Prior experience in contract drafting, review and negotiation required.</li> <li>4+ years leadership and management experience required.</li> <li>Preferred candidate will be a self-starter with exceptional organizational skills.</li> <li>Knowledge of general corporate and compliance issues.</li> </ul> <p>#LI-VER</p> <div> <p> We strongly advocate that our associates receive all CDC recommended vaccinations in prevention of COVID-19.</p> <p> Visa Sponsorship is not offered for this position.</p> <p> At Veradigm, our greatest strength comes from bringing together talented people with diverse perspectives to support the technology needs of 180,000 physicians, 1,500 hospitals and 10,000 postacute organizations across the globe.
