Summary: Seeking a Patent Prosecution Paralegal to assist the team with utility and design patent preparation, prosecution, and portfolio management. Preferred candidate is dynamic, flexible, has a high attention to detail, strong time management and prioritization skills, and enjoys working closely with team of associates, partners, and legal secretaries, including those in remote offices. Responsibilities: Work with team of attorneys to support domestic and foreign patent prosecution; Create electronic files, and maintain utility and design patent applications from filing to issuance; Highly competent and knowledgeable of U.S. Patent Office rules and procedures, including accessing, reviewing, and interpreting records on Private PAIR; Strong experience uploading and filing documents in Private PAIR under sponsorship account; Draft and file domestic, PCT, and Hague Convention applications; Draft communications to foreign correspondents and clients and follow up to ensure communications are timely sent/received; Draft responses to office actions to address basic or recurring issues; Draft Information Disclosure Statements; Record assignments with the U.S. Patent Office; Occasional database entry and maintenance; File docketing notices, track deadlines, and coordinate timely responses to office actions; Correspond with drafting services for preparation of utility and design patent drawings; General online research, calls to U.S. Patent Office about administrative and procedural questions, and other miscellaneous tasks to support patent team Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate from an ABA approved program. 5+ years of extensive foreign and domestic patent prosecution experience with knowledge of SEAGIS and CPI docket database. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, detail-oriented work environment. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) Exhibit a high degree of initiative and independent judgment with excellent troubleshooting and follow-thru skills. Computer proficient with advanced skills in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Explorer and Outlook) required. Knowledge and experience with database management and administration is preferred.
