<p> We are looking for an experienced coverage professional to serve as one of Risk Solutions’ “point people” for coverage determinations, coverage and premium-audit litigation, and policy-drafting projects. The position will focus on losses in a nationwide book of surplus lines business, including primary and excess claims under commercial general liability (CGL) and other policies. This position will report to Risk Solutions’ Assistant Vice President of Claims – Coverage. Both Cincinnati, Ohio office setting and remote (work-from-home) candidates will be considered. All interviews will be conducted in Cincinnati, Ohio.</p>

<p> Responsibilities:</p>
<ul>
<li> Investigates and maintains a book of coverage claim files.</li>
<li> Assigns cases to outside counsel and manages claims-related engagements and litigation.</li>
<li> Works closely with adjusters and claim managers to analyze coverage issues and draft coverage correspondence.</li>
<li> Works closely with counsel in Corporate Claims and Corporate Legal.</li>
<li> Develops, prepares, and implements claims litigation strategy, including effecting settlements and reserves within prescribed authority.</li>
<li> Works toward the resolution of claims files and attends arbitrations, mediations, or trials as necessary, but is not attorney of record.</li>
<li> Must be open to travel, including overnight travel as needed.</li>
<li> Ensures compliance of claims handling pursuant to all state, legal, statutory, and regulatory bodies.</li>
<li> Provides technical advice to divisional file handlers and other functional areas.</li>
<li> Provides technical input in drafting policy forms to include legal research.</li>
<li> May present or moderate as needed in divisional meetings.</li>

<p> Qualifications:</p>
<ul>
<li> Generally, possess a JD from an accredited law school and active license to practice law.</li>
<li> 4+ years of commercial insurance coverage experience is preferred but no required.</li>
<li> Superior communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.</li>
<li> Significant litigation experience is required, coverage litigation preferred.</li>
<li> Experience drafting insurance- and coverage-related correspondence is preferred but not required.</li>
<li> Prior insurance policy-drafting experience is preferred but not required.</li>
<li> Familiarity with LexisNexis or Westlaw legal research platforms is preferred.</li>
