Our BBH Cares program offers volunteer opportunities to give back to your community and help transform the lives of others. </div> <div></div> <div> The Senior Counsel will cover the areas referenced below within BBH’s Investor Services line of business and the Administration function, with particular focus on representation of the foreign exchange (“FX”) business within BBH’s Markets group and the capital markets and other needs of BBH’s Treasury group. </div> <div></div> <div> The candidate will advise: </div> <div></div> <ul> <li> BBH FX, primarily in the context of cash trading transactions and related issues. He or she will provide counsel on FX-related matters (including in support of product development, FX operations, trading, relationship management, sales, marketing, risk and compliance, and regulatory matters and developments), review marketing materials, client inquiries and RFPs, and draft and negotiate FX-related agreements to include industry trading terms such as ISDA Master Agreements (including Credit Support Annexes) and bespoke BBH service agreements covering BBH’s proprietary products/services.</li> <li> BBH Treasury and Treasury Network areas in the context of its cash management service, nostro and/or clearing accounts, and interest rate swap and liquidity activities. He or she will provide counsel on Treasury-related matters, and review and negotiate, as applicable, clearing and other banking arrangements.</li> <li> BBH’s business servicing futures commission merchants (“FCMs”) and clearing organizations (“DCOs”), which services include depository and/or settlement banking services to FCMs and DCOs, and shareholder services to money market funds. He or she will provide counsel on FCM/DCO-related matters (including in support of relationship management, risk and compliance, and regulatory matters and developments), review client inquiries and RFPs, and draft and negotiate account and shareholder servicing agreements,</li> </ul> <div></div> <div> The candidate will monitor legal and regulatory developments with respect to the above areas. </div> <div></div> <div> The candidate will have managerial responsibilities for an FX document negotiator. </div> <div></div> <div> QUALIFICATIONS: </div> <ul> <li> Must be a graduate of an accredited law school</li> <li> Minimum 15+ years experience as an attorney and admitted into the state bar</li> <li> Excellent knowledge of financial services activities (including capital markets activities of banks and brokers)</li> <li> Knowledge of relevant CFTC statutes, rules and regulations</li> <li> Knowledge of foreign currency, fixed income and clearing documentation and legal issues, including ISDA Master Agreements and Credit Support Annexes</li> <li> Prior experience working on, or supporting, trading desks and businesses, clearing arrangements and Treasury, is a plus</li> <li> Ability to negotiate complex agreements to completion</li> <li> Ability to prioritize, take initiative and bring projects to conclusion</li> <li> Ability to work effectively with various internal and external constituencies</li> <li> Skilled in drafting and presenting written and oral communications</li> <li> Ability to work with peers while retaining responsibility for results</li> <li> Strong sense of business and legal ethics</li> <li> Attention to detail is a must</li> <li> Strong leadership, workflow management and organizational skills; ability to handle a variety of projects simultaneously with minimal supervision, and the ability to prioritize to meet tight deadlines in the context of servicing a dynamic business unit</li> <li> Prior in-house experience a plus</li> </ul> <div></div> We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, genetic information, creed, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other protected status under federal, state or local law. <div></div> <div> <br> Salary Range </div> <div> $200k-$240k base salary + annual bonus target </div> <div> <i> BBH’s compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
