The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.</i></p> <div> <div> <div> <h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b> Your Responsibilities</b></h2> </div> <div> <p><br> </p> <p>As the <b><i>Senior Attorney - Environment </i></b>for John Deere located in Moline, IL, you will have the following responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> Lead legal support for Deere’s environmental operations, including counseling on all aspects of air, waste, and water-related regulatory compliance and enforcement issues</li> <li> Lead legal support for EHS due diligence in mergers and acquisitions transactions</li> <li> Lead legal support for Deere’s remediation site portfolio, including reviewing/commenting on consultant reports, assisting in assessing financial assurance requirements, counseling on priorities for site closure</li> <li> Lead legal support for the corporate environmental team on Enterprise-wide topics</li> <li> Collaborate closely with environmental business partners to assess legal impact on major business decisions</li> <li> Collaborate with global Legal and Public Affairs colleagues to monitor and comply with global environmental regulations and impending legislation that may impact Deere's manufacturing locations and corporate strategy</li> <li> Stay current on emerging trends in all facets of environmental law through continuing legal education, industry publications, and participation in professional conferences and associations</li> </ul> <p><b> Visa sponsorship is NOT available for this position. </b></p> </div> </div> <div> <div> <h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>What Skills You Need</b></h2> </div> <div> <ul> <li> Experience analyzing federal and state environmental regulatory requirements and assessing applicability to manufacturing operations</li> <li> 8 or more years of experience planning, executing, and advising on complex areas of environmental law</li> <li> 8 or more years in the practice of law in a private law firm or corporate law department</li> <li> Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 25%</li> </ul> </div> </div> <div> <div> <h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b> What Makes You Stand Out </b></h2> </div> <div> <ul> <li>Expertise in U.S. air-related permitting, compliance, and enforcement</li> <li> Experience advising on global environmental regulations </li> <li>Experience advising on Occupational Safety and/or Occupational Health matters</li> <li> Experience managing outside counsel</li> </ul> </div> </div> <div> <div> <h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b> Education</b></h2> </div> <div></div> <div> <ul> <li><br> Juris Doctor (JD) degree</li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> <p></p> <p><b><br> What You'll Get</b></p> <p></p> <p><br> At John Deere, you are empowered to create a career that will take you to where you want to go.
