<p></p> Tesla participates in the E-Verify Program What to Expect Tesla is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Sr. Counsel with a minimum of 10+ years of employment law experience, who is well-versed in California employment laws. This attorney will be responsible for providing strategic, high-level employment legal advice and guidance to various internal business and HR teams. Key to this role will be to get out ahead of any potential issues, assess and manage employment law risk, and offer practical, creative solutions to business partners. <br> This position requires a strong work ethic, including experience in managing a large number of internal requests, outstanding time management skills and the ability to prioritize a heavy workload efficiently. What You’ll Do <ul> <li> Provide legal advice and guidance on all aspects of employment law including but not limited to, hiring, recruiting, termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, leave and disability accommodation, workers compensation, non-competition, employee benefits and other employment related issues</li> <li> Advise on and participate in the resolution of employment-related disputes and investigations</li> <li> Work on ad hoc legal employment law related projects, including but not limited to offer letters, policies, trainings, templates and processes</li> <li> Support the HR teams by handling compliance, employee issues, internal investigations, audits, pre-dispute conflicts and labor matters.</li> <li> Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements, policies, and procedures</li> <li> Handle legal demand letters and other disputes.</li> <li> Lead and collaborate with cross-functional partners on complex projects to sustain and enhance employment law compliance across multiple jurisdictions</li> <li> Develop and conduct training for managers and employees on employment-related topics</li> <li> Work closely with specialized outside counsel to manage risk and ensure that internal partners receive effective, business-focused employment law support</li> <li> Provide legal guidance and training on employment and labor issues to HR and management</li> <li> Perform other duties as assigned by management</li> </ul> What You’ll Bring <ul> <li> Member in good standing with the California bar or ability to register as an in-house counsel</li> <li> Minimum of 7-8 years of relevant legal experience with a focus on employment law, including experience in a senior legal role in-house. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
