While the principal focus of the role will be to support commercial and research &amp; development contracting, including trade, managed care and clinical trial related agreements, the successful candidate will also support other matters relating to Horizon’s business as may be requested and ideally would have experience in other areas such as privacy, property and corporate governance related issues. </div> <div></div> <div> Responsibilities: </div> <div> The principal scope of this position relates to providing legal support on a wide range of of Horizon’s commercial and research and development activities. The successful candidate will partner with members of the commercial and R&amp;D organizations to ensure that contracting needs are met and handled in a manner that is consistent with company requirements, applicable regulations, and good business practices. The responsibilities for this position will be broad, and will include the provision of legal support on a range of matters encompassing, but not limited to, the following: </div> <ul> <li> Commercial contracting, including trade, managed care and marketing matters.</li> <li> Research and development contracting, including clinical operations documents (e.g. ICFs, letters of indemnity, powers of attorney), clinical trial agreements and other related contracts and documents.</li> <li> Counseling on general commercial and research and development-related issues.</li> <li> Managing various contracting responsibilities, including drafting, negotiation, management as well as oversight of contracts database.</li> <li> Privacy.</li> <li> Ability to lead conversations and meetings with internal and external customers with respect to the negotiation and execution of contracts and related document review.</li> </ul> <div></div> <div> Qualifications and Skills Required: </div> <div></div> <div> The successful candidate should ideally possess the following skills/attributes: </div> <ul> <li> Excellent academic record including a third level degree in Law or a related discipline.</li> <li> Professionally qualified attorney, ideally with 5 or more years of practice experience in private practice on in-house positions.</li> <li> Commercial and research and development (including clinical document review) contracting experience preferred.</li> <li> Previous life sciences or healthcare experience preferred.</li> <li> Must have demonstrable commercial acumen and the ability to assume an increasingly demanding portfolio of work over time.</li> <li> Candidates coming directly from private practice or those who are currently working in an in-house role in industry are equally eligible to apply for this role</li> </ul> <div></div> <div> Our Values </div> <ul> <li> Transparency: We value collaboration.
