<div id="jobDescriptionText" class="jobsearch-jobDescriptionText jobsearch-JobComponent-description css-1x2lix0 eu4oa1w0"><div> <p><b>Job Summary</b></p> <p> Reporting to the Vice President, Chief Counsel – Commercial Transactions, the Counsel, Environmental and Transactions will provide legal support for environmental matters and certain contract matters on an enterprise-wide basis. You will counsel business and other cross-functional partners on a wide variety of environmental compliance activities as well as assist with negotiating a number of commercial arrangements</p> <p></p> <p><b> Position Responsibilities</b></p> <ul> <li> Provide legal advice on environmental regulatory and permitting issues across Conagra's manufacturing facilities.</li> <li> Propose and execute legal strategy for managing Conagra's legacy environmental sites, including a number of Superfund and Superfund-like sites inherited from prior acquisitions.</li> <li> Work with environmental consultants and outside counsel to assist in cost-effectively remediating environmental contamination.</li> <li> Negotiate with Federal and State regulatory bodies regarding environmental compliance issues, including stipulation agreements and consent decrees.</li> <li> Draft, negotiate and execute a wide variety of commercial agreements (e.g., contract manufacturing, distribution, licensing, promotional, foodservice, supply, R&amp;D, consulting/service, etc.).</li> <li> Negotiate directly with counterparties regarding pre-litigation contract disputes.</li> <li> Advise business on contract risk and negotiation strategies.</li> <li> Partner with other legal team members to service cross-functional projects, for example, large marketing campaigns, intellectual property licensing, and third-party food quality claims.</li> </ul> <p><b> Position Qualifications</b></p> <ul> <li> Licensed attorney with 5+ years of experience in environmental matters at a law firm or corporate legal department.</li> <li> Meaningful experience negotiating with environmental regulatory bodies.</li> <li> Experience with managing and advising on plant environmental permits, e.g., wastewater and air permits.</li> <li> Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, think critically, manage complex projects, learn new areas of law, and solve problems.</li> <li> Some experience negotiating commercial contracts.</li> <li> Able to effectively use external counsel within budget constraints.</li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b> Our Modern Workplace:</b></p> <p> Conagra's culture of collaboration enhances our ability to meet critical business goals, deliver value to customers and consumers and provide you with the flexibility you need to achieve a better work-life balance.
