<b>Position Summary...</b> <br> <br> <b>What you'll do...</b> <br> <br> The International legal team is part of Walmart's legal department dedicated to support the CEO of Walmart International and her leadership and support teams who drive the strategy and growth of Walmart's international portfolio. We have robust and talented legal teams in 8 different operating businesses, speaking over 40 languages and dialects. International legal provides legal advice, global oversight and connectivity to the central corporate functions. You'll find that being a part of the Walmart International legal team brings tremendous growth potential and exciting new challenges. <br> <br> <b>About Team: Walmart International</b> <br> Walmart International supports Walmart's portfolio of companies and investments outside of the United States, touching over 30 different countries. Collectively, these companies constitute the world's largest international omnichannel retailer with over $100 billion in GMV and 500,000 associates. The portfolio includes both privately held and listed companies and covers industries such as ecommerce/marketplaces, sourcing, supply chain, financial services, retail, grocery, and more. The portfolio has changed tremendously over the last 5 years, and the future promises to be exciting. <br> <br> <b>What you'll do:</b> <br> <ul> <li> Supporting the Senior Lead Counsel on all aspects of providing advice across a wide variety of legal needs for a business that supports a diverse portfolio of private and public companies.</li> <li> Operating as an embedded partner and thorough risk-spotter with a variety of international business teams and helping to triage and manage the workflow within the international legal team.</li> <li> Owning the legal management of projects and problem-solving including the necessary collaboration with lateral stakeholders ( e.g. finance, tax, treasury, subject matter experts, etc.) and updates to central corporate functions for financial reporting, etc.</li> <li> Negotiating a broad range of complex contracts (including SaSS, emerging technologies, and other services) for clients in procurement, supply chain and e-commerce.</li> <li> Managing an inventory of inter -company agreements regarding IP licenses, data transfers, ISD charges, etc.</li> <li> Supporting post-divesture processes including amending transitional agreements and advising on Walmart's commitments with divested entities.</li> <li> Ensuring Walmart's international corporate governance is operating and applied appropriately and is regularly updated; and</li> <li> Supporting legal and business teams around the world in a way that permits local businesses to be "powered by Walmart"; ( e.g. finding leverage, synergies, opportunities for collaboration and simplification, etc.).</li> </ul> <br> <b> What you'll bring:</b> <br> <ul> <li> Successfully fielded a broad array of legal issues and have a proven ability to manage complex business problems to resolution.</li> <li> Taken ownership of projects and problems. Your superpower is quarterbacking solutions, even where next steps are non-linear or involve conflicting views or partial information.</li> <li> Build trusted relationships within your organization.
