<p><b>This position supports our Hospital Operations and Care Delivery legal team. The Hospital Operations and Care Delivery team provides day-to-day legal advice and support on operational issues to Kaiser Permanente hospitals and care delivery systems in California, Hawaii, Mid-Atlantic States and Georgia.</b></p> <p><b><br> Overview:</b></p> <br> <ul> <li> In collaboration with other team members, providing comprehensive legal advice to management on advancing strategic care delivery goals in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and managing legal risk in hospital operations and care delivery.</li> <li> Contributing to providing comprehensive legal support to KP's medical centers, enabling KP to provide high-quality, affordable health care in compliance with laws and regulations governing care delivery and hospital operations in California and additional KP markets as assigned (e.g., licensing and certification requirements, consent and decision-making, Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA), etc.);</li> <li> Supporting more senior attorneys to provide guidance on health plan and hospital quality, credentialing, and medical staff functions regarding legal accountabilities and requirements, and providing legal support and representation in credentialing and medical staff adverse action hearings; and</li> <li> Communicating advice and counsel in assigned subject matter areas, such as digital health, pharmacy operations and/or, privacy and security.</li> </ul> <b><br> Job Summary:</b> <p><br> Provides counsel and advice on a wide range of health care-related matters and assesses legal risk impacting KP business and/or clinical operations, proposing solutions. Conducts legal research, interprets laws and rules, and regulations, and analyzes judicial decisions by applying advanced and in-depth knowledge of legal principles. Preparing, drafting, creating, and reviewing training materials, reviewing and providing in-depth provides actionable feedback to clients and other legal professionals.</p> <b><br> Essential Responsibilities:</b> <br> <ul> <li> Promotes learning in others by communicating information and providing advice to drive projects forward; builds relationships with cross-functional stakeholders.
