Description
The workers’ compensation scheduling paralegal position may involve some or all of the following duties: Schedule mediations/depositions noticing all participants Prepare deposition notices Calendar/docket hearings, discovery and other deadlines Prepare subpoenas and contact witnesses for scheduling purposes Draft necessary Industrial Commission Forms Prepare Designation of Mediator form Draft motions, requests for extensions of time to respond to Motions, Response to Motions Record daily time entry into Aderant Total Office Accommodate attorney preferences for scheduling his or her time Communicate with staff inside and outside the firm regarding scheduling activities Manage multiple requests from attorneys at the same time Communicate and resolve competing priorities when appropriate Any other tasks that may be assigned by Supervising Attorneys or Management Skills and Knowledge of Word/Microsoft Office Suite required Abilities: Provide paralegal support for several attorneys Ability to complete tasks assigned in a timely fashion Manage/meet deadlines Flexible/detail oriented Accuracy of work product and ability to meet deadlines and produce rush projects as assigned Knowledge of Aderant Total Office (ATO) preferred Education: Required - paralegal certificate or two years’ experience working as a paralegal or legal assistant, preferably in a litigation practice. Prefer bachelor’s degree or work equivalent.
