The Seattle office of Lane Powell is seeking a litigation Associate to join our Commercial Litigation team. We are looking for an attorney with four to eight years of general commercial litigation experience to support a variety of matters ranging from real estate, banking, insurance, construction, and general business disputes. Candidates should be licensed to practice in Washington, or be eligible for reciprocity. Successful candidates will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of litigation, including initial case evaluations and budgets, handling and assisting with communications with clients, opposing parties and affiliated parties, assisting with or developing case strategies and managing case schedules. Handling all aspects of discovery including preparing and responding to discovery requests, handling and/or overseeing aspects of e-discovery and defending and taking depositions, managing motion practice at all stages of a proceeding. In addition to handling hearings in federal and state court proceedings and/or at arbitration, handling settlement conferences and mediations, including preparing and providing strategy regarding position statements or settlement offers, and preparing for and/or handling arbitrations and trials or aspects of them. Candidates should be licensed to practice in Washington, or eligible for reciprocity. 4-8 years of general commercial litigation experience. Prior Federal clerkship experience desired.
