Overview:
The Deputy General Counsel - Litigation is responsible for providing advice and legal counsel to the Company on a broad range of matters. The incumbent in this role will report to the General Counsel/Security and assist with all in-house litigation matters and with the preparation of all litigation and risk reports. The Deputy General Counsel will also manage and supervise a team of paralegals as well as a staff of litigation attorneys.

Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Responsible for providing advice and legal counsel to the company on a broad range of matters. </li>
<li>Manage Lennar corporation’s in-house litigation attorneys and outside attorneys in all aspects of litigation facing the enterprise, including construction defect, personal injury, environmental, employment, land use, and contract (business) disputes. </li>
<li>Assist the General Counsel in the preparation of litigation and risk reports to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, outside auditors, and internal business clients. </li>
<li>Assists the General Counsel with an array of departmental administrative matters, budgetary and compliance activities, internal investigations, and other legal matters as they arise. </li>
<li>Responsible for establishing and assuring compliance with case management strategies to further the business goals of the company.</li>
<li> Supervises a staff of litigation attorneys and paralegals.</li>

Qualifications:
<b> Education and Experience Requirements:</b>
<ul>
<li> Juris Doctorate required and admitted to a state bar association. Admission to at least one state bar.</li>
<li> Fifteen years experience litigation experience, including some construction defect, personal injury and contract dispute litigation.</li>
<li> In-house experience.</li>
<li> Experience in analysis and determination of legal reserves for accounting.</li>
<li> Experience managing a diverse portfolio across several states including Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia and Maryland.</li>
<li> Experience managing outside counsel and negotiating engagement and fee agreements, including alternative fee arrangements.</li>
<li> Experience in ADR, including arbitration and mediation.</li>
<li> Experience managing in-house counsel and support staff.</li>
