The organization is the nation’s largest cable provider to small and mid-size businesses and has emerged as a force in the Enterprise market, recognized by leading industry associations as one of the fastest growing provider of Ethernet services. <p><b><br> Job Summary</b></p> The Counsel, Business Services, will be responsible for providing legal support including negotiating professional services and other purchasing agreements for Comcast Business. This role will report to the Assistant Deputy General Counsel. <p><b> Job Description</b></p> <p><b> Primary Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</b></p> <ul> <li> Provide legal counsel and support to one or more groups within Comcast Business, including recently acquired companies. Counsel on a broad range of legal issues relating to assigned area(s).</li> <li> Draft, review, and negotiate professional services and other purchasing agreements.</li> <li> Provide guidance on new and developing products and services.</li> <li> Engage and direct outside counsel to undertake specific and complex work requiring application of highly specialized legal knowledge.</li> <li> Provide leadership in one or more legal specialties and disseminate information on trends and innovations within the specialty.</li> <li> Lead and provide guidance to legal staff including junior Attorneys, Paralegals, Contract Specialists, and administrative staff, as required.</li> <li> Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.</li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b> Education &amp; Experience Requirements:</b></p> <ul> <li> JD degree from a top tier law school with strong academic credentials.</li> <li> Licensed in one US jurisdiction and active membership in good standing in a state bar.</li> <li> Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in telecommunications, media, technology, software, or any innovative business-to-business sales industry preferred.</li> <li> Excellent negotiating, drafting, problem solving and communications skills.</li> <li> Ability to work effectively with senior management and operations personnel, simultaneously manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines with consistently high-quality work product.</li> <li> Law firm and in-house experience preferred.</li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b> Personal Traits &amp; Competencies:</b></p> <ul> <li> Consistently exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.</li> <li> Excellent negotiating, drafting, problem solving and communication skills.</li> <li> Understand risk assessment and analysis within the context of a growing, innovative technology industry.</li> <li> Ability to work effectively with senior management and business operations personnel, simultaneously manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines with consistently high-quality work product.</li> <li> Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual in-office attendance.
