PROFESSIONAL STAFF MEMBER/COUNSEL

<p>The Democratic staff of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee is seeking a Professional Staff Member/Counsel to support the Committee’s oversight and legislative activities related to cybersecurity, protecting critical infrastructure, emerging technologies, and artificial intelligence. At least 7 years of related policy or legal experience is required, and previous hill experience is strongly preferred. Primary responsibilities include the entrepreneurial development and execution of legislative and oversight actions within the Committee’s jurisdiction, conducting research, developing and composing oversight letters, developing and drafting legislation, revising and updating legislative proposals in the committee’s jurisdiction, preparing the Senator for Committee hearings, meeting with stakeholders, and other associated responsibilities. Candidates must be exceptionally strong writers, detail-oriented, be able to work under tight deadlines, and be able to handle multiple projects at once. Title and salary will be based on education and experience.
