If you’re interested in appearing in court representing Nebraska’s child welfare agency and protecting Nebraska’s vulnerable children, apply today! <br> <br> This position will provide legal support to the Division of Children and Family Services as a juvenile court attorney for our Office of Juvenile Services and Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Centers in the Omaha area and Northeast Nebraska. The attorney in this position will appear as a special assistant attorney general representing the Department in juvenile court proceedings. The attorney will be based in the Omaha office and will primarily attend court in Douglas and Sarpy counties, but may travel to surrounding counties as needed. This position will also provide litigation support to the agency and Attorney General's Office, as needed. This may include the handling of appeals filed with the Nebraska appellate courts on behalf of the agency. Skill in: preparing summaries, legal analyses, findings and conclusions, briefs and other legal documents, negotiating and communicating with others sufficient to persuade their acceptance of contentious goals or viewpoints; analyzing and interpreting various factors, perspectives, and options and applying critical thinking to resolve issues.
