<div id="jobDescriptionText" class="jobsearch-jobDescriptionText" dir="ltr"><div> Job Description <p><br> We’re looking for a <b>Counsel, Data Protection</b>, to join Procore’s fast-growing Legal, Regulatory &amp; Compliance (LRC) Department. In this role, you’ll work with stakeholders across the organization to help protect our customer and employee data, deliver data-driven products and insights, and ensure company-wide compliance with applicable privacy and data protection laws and regulations.</p> <p> As <b>Counsel, Data Protection</b>, you’ll partner with cross-functional teams, including IT, Security, Procurement, HR, Marketing, Product, and Engineering, to provide legal guidance on global initiatives impacting data privacy and security. Your passion for technology and deep knowledge of domestic and international privacy and data protection laws and regulations allows you to provide practical and solutions-oriented advice to your business partners, effectively calculate potential risks, manage workloads, and prioritize multiple business partner demands. This position is an exciting new opportunity that will play an important role in the company’s continued growth and success.</p> <p> This position reports to our VP &amp; Associate General Counsel, Global Data Protection &amp; Privacy. This role can be remote or based in one of Procore’s U.S.-based office locations. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.</p> <p><b> What you’ll do</b>:</p> <ul> <li> Provide data privacy and security subject-matter expertise and guidance to other LRC team members and cross-functional business partners in IT, Security, Procurement, HR, Marketing, Product, and Engineering</li> <li> Use your considerable experience to enhance, scale, and execute the existing global data protection program, including privacy policies and documentation, employee training, policy enforcement, monitoring and auditing, and incident response</li> <li> Provide actionable, pragmatic advice to internal clients and external customers on legal risks and obligations under applicable data privacy and security laws and regulations globally (including CPRA, GDPR, HIPAA)</li> <li> Draft and negotiate data protection agreements, advising on privacy and data security in vendor and commercial transactions, developing and enhancing processes to support same</li> <li> Work with the Security and Data teams to scope and perform periodic data privacy risk assessments, mitigation, and remediation</li> <li> Stay informed and advise on relevant consumer protection, privacy, and data security laws and regulations, as well as on technological developments and evolving industry standards to ensure an ongoing ability to provide compliance advice</li> <li> Collaborate with Global Data Protection &amp; Privacy team to draft external privacy policies, notices, and disclosures, managing internal policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with global data protection and security laws</li> <li> Evangelize privacy principles to achieve better privacy integration in the product development lifecycles</li> <li> Lead or support additional projects as needed, potentially including the ongoing ownership of longer-term programs</li> </ul> <p><b> What we’re looking for</b>:</p> <ul> <li> Must be admitted, active, and in good standing with the state bar in which the position is located or with another state bar and registered, or eligible to register, as in-house counsel with the state bar in which the position is located</li> <li> 5+ years of proven privacy, data protection, and security experience acquired with a prominent national law firm and in-house legal department (gained ideally at a SaaS or other high-growth technology company)</li> <li> CIPP, CIPM, CIPT, and/or related certifications are a strong plus</li> <li> Passion for technology and energized by the challenges of serving a rapidly scaling company in a dynamic, hyper-growth environment</li> <li> Ability to simultaneously manage workloads, multiple client demands, and shifting priorities within a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment</li> <li> Strong desire to learn the business and to function integrally as part of an interdisciplinary team</li> <li> High EQ, impeccable professional ethics, integrity, judgment, and demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential information</li> <li> Able to operate autonomously while being a team player who brings a positive “can do” attitude to the workplace working collaboratively with other members of the LRC Department and with internal business partners</li> <li> Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively counsel internal business partners by providing clear and concise advice and creative solutions to meet business needs</li> </ul> </div> <br> <div> Additional Information <p><br> Base Pay Range $155,400-$213,675. Eligible for Equity Compensation. Procore is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation, and has provided an estimated pay range for this role.
