Description
Seyfarth Shaw LLP seeks a highly qualified Corporate Counsel or non-equity Partner with at least 7 years of private fund or other alternative investment experience, with a preference for experience representing institutional investors (for example, governmental pension plans, ERISA pension plans, charitable and university foundations, and family offices) in their evaluation of and execution on investment opportunities. The successful candidate will have material experience with reviewing and structuring comingled private fund investments (e.g. limited partnership agreements, subscription agreements, and side letters), co-investment opportunities, bespoke joint venture opportunities, secondaries transactions and general corporate governance matters. Candidates should have a high level of initiative and engagement, an entrepreneurial attitude, a willingness (and the confidence) to engage directly with clients and opposing counsel, and a demonstrable commitment to becoming a partner. We require sophisticated analytical, communication and interpersonal skills. Must be admitted to the state bar of their resident office within six (6) months of hire. Applicants could be resident in our Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles or Washington, DC offices. We serve as investment counsel to a significant number of large government plans, including several among the top 25 largest pension plans, as well as a number of large ERISA plans (both single employer and multiemployer), and public foundations. Since 2018, we have represented our institutional investor clients in connection with more than $50 billion in investments.
