Description

Gerber Ciano Kelly Brady LLP is seeking an associate attorney with 1–3 years of experience in Downstate New York. The position offers an exciting opportunity for a junior attorney to develop litigation skills in a collaborative, forward-thinking law firm environment.


The ideal candidate will have early-career experience in general litigation and strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Exposure to professional liability, product liability, or appellate work is a plus but not required. This position requires initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Candidates must be admitted to practice in New York.


Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation
  • Drafting legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and legal memoranda
  • Conducting legal research and preparing comprehensive reports and analysis
  • Participating in court conferences, depositions, and hearings as appropriate
  • Managing deadlines and ensuring compliance with client guidelines
  • Maintaining accurate time records and billing entries


Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of litigation experience, preferably in a law firm setting
  • Admission to practice in New York is required (additional bar admissions in NJ, CT, or PA are a plus)
  • Strong writing and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional, team-oriented demeanor
  • Federal court or appellate experience is a plus, but not required
