Gerber Ciano Kelly Brady LLP is seeking an associate attorney with 1–3 years of experience in Downstate New York. The position offers an exciting opportunity for a junior attorney to develop litigation skills in a collaborative, forward-thinking law firm environment.
The ideal candidate will have early-career experience in general litigation and strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Exposure to professional liability, product liability, or appellate work is a plus but not required. This position requires initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Candidates must be admitted to practice in New York.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation
- Drafting legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and legal memoranda
- Conducting legal research and preparing comprehensive reports and analysis
- Participating in court conferences, depositions, and hearings as appropriate
- Managing deadlines and ensuring compliance with client guidelines
- Maintaining accurate time records and billing entries
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of litigation experience, preferably in a law firm setting
- Admission to practice in New York is required (additional bar admissions in NJ, CT, or PA are a plus)
- Strong writing and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, team-oriented demeanor
- Federal court or appellate experience is a plus, but not required
