<div id="jobDescriptionText" class="jobsearch-jobDescriptionText"><div> <div> <b>Senior Counsel, Commercial </b> <b>-</b> <b>CNP03883</b> </div> <p></p> <div> <p><b><br> CenterPoint Energy</b> is looking for a<b> Senior Counsel, Commercial </b>to join our <b>CNP Legal Corporate Team</b>, located in <b>Houston, TX</b>. </p> <p>You will have the ability to: <b>manage legal issues on complex commercial transactions and contribute to the overall development of the Company’s supply chain strategy, including drafting and negotiation of a wide range of commercial contracts, process development and implementation, transactional risk assessment and support, and training development and rollout. This role will work closely with the Company’s corporate, supply chain and operational personnel to support and facilitate business transactions while minimizing risk. (Doctor of Jurisprudence) degree required from an accredited law school.</li> <li>Must be admitted to practice in the State of Texas, with a minimum of five (5) years of transactional experience in a law firm or as in-house counsel, including experience with commercial contracting.</li> </ul> <br> <p> </p> <p><b>A bonus to have:</b></p> <ul> <li>Experience in energy, including renewables, or utilities is a plus, as well as a willingness to work on pro bono matters.</li> </ul> <p>#LI-CNP</p> </div> <div></div> <div> <div> <b><br> This contractor and subcontractor shall abide by the requirements of 41 CFR §§ 60-1.4(a), 60-300.5(a), and 60-741.5(a).
