Senior Director, AI Attorney

As Senior Director, AI Attorney, you will report to the Vice President, Legal for Tech/IP. You will play a critical role providing counsel, strategic inputs and services on legal issues related to generative artificial intelligence, machine learning and the law. You will work with product managers, engineers and other stakeholders across the enterprise including Data and Machine Learning teams managing the needs of the business including drafting, negotiating, interpreting, and advising clients. The successful candidate will have deep knowledge on legal AI developments, stay abreast of emerging technologies, and collaborate with various teams within the firm to develop innovative solutions and offerings. Key Responsibilities: <ul> <li> Manage the AI/ML Legal portfolio including new application filing, prosecution, and strategy development. </li> <li> Patent search/analysis including search/analysis, patentability search/analysis and due diligence. </li> <li> Work closely with stakeholders to identify and protect new intellectual property. </li> <li> Counsel customers and product development/business development teams on intellectual property matters. </li> <li> Review and negotiate AI/ML-related agreements, trademark registration, renewals, and enforcement. </li> <li> Create and deliver AI/ML related training and other related knowledge-based projects. </li> </ul> Qualifications: <ul> <li> A Juris Doctor from a recognized, accredited law school. </li> <li> The candidate must be admitted to the Patent Bar. Must have 10+ years of experience in both litigation and transactional areas of patent practice, as well as some experience in soft intellectual property. </li> <li> Experience advising on machine learning technology or artificial intelligence (AI). </li> <li> Experience with patent preparation and prosecution experience preferred. </li> <li> Exhibit leadership by example, effort and attitude, including the ability to work independently. </li> <li> Excellent communication, and analytical skills. </li> <li> Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. </li> </ul> Location: <ul> <li> This is a hybrid role, on-site 3 days per week at Chevy Chase, MD or New York, NY. </li> </ul> #LI-AN1 <br> Annual Salary $210,000.00 - $350,000.00 The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate.
