This is your opportunity to join a growing company offering a competitive base salary and benefits.</p> <p></p> <p><b> What’s in it For You:</b></p> <ul> <li><p> The ability to make an impact and shape your career with a company that is passionate about growth.</p></li> <li><p> The support of an organization that believes it is vital to include and engage diverse people, perspectives, and ideas to achieve our best.</p></li> <li><p> Thrive in a company that values sustainability and drives a safety-focused culture.</p></li> <li><p> Comprehensive benefits package starting day 1 of employment- medical, dental, vision, matching 401k, and more!</p></li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b> What You Will Do:</b></p> <p><b> Planning</b></p> <ul> <li> Domestic and international tax counseling and tax planning to corporate and operating management on structuring domestic and foreign investments and transactions to assure optimum tax and financial structure for tax law compliance.</li> <li> Performs tax research, strategic planning, and analysis on proposed transactions; works with business and corporate personnel to analyze data and propose solutions.</li> <li> Supports the VP of Tax in the strategic planning/management global tax obligations; plays a key role in the structure and organization of the global tax function.</li> <li> Initiates company focused tax planning including new country entry and project review, business and country exits, and formation and/or liquidation of legal entities.</li> <li> Reviews, analyzes and documents domestic and international tax positions for internal, external financial reporting, and external revenue authority audit support.</li> <li> Provides US tax compliance group with input on tax aspects of international locations and OECD, EU and other international tax initiatives for 10Qs and 10Ks.</li> <li> Designs and develops presentations for internal and external users, including the ChampionX Audit Committee and Board of Directors.</li> <li> Coordinates or participates in special projects on an ad hoc basic often involving legal, finance, SCM, treasury and insurance teams.</li> <li> May provide leadership or represent the Company in tax-related industry or community affairs.</li> <li> Provides leadership and guidance to tax staff.</li> <li> May provide input for budget planning and the development of departmental strategy and goals.</li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b> Business Support/Contracts</b></p> <ul> <li> Participates directly in the drafting a/o negotiation and review of agreements (Sales Agreements, Leases, Purchase Orders, Employment Contracts, etc.) to ensure that appropriate domestic and foreign tax implications are considered.</li> <li> Evaluates and advises on tax implications, risks and opportunities of ongoing and new worldwide business activities, including contract review, interpretation of tax provisions, negotiations and drafting of tax-related language in agreements to optimize domestic and foreign tax benefits to ChampionX.</li> <li> Assesses and advises on matters concerning international tax implications of vendor agreements and intercompany agreements in designated international locations (service agreements, promissory notes, inter-company loans, capital contributions, etc.), working with Legal, Treasury, Accounting and Finance teams.</li> <li> Forges effective relationships with key business partners throughout the Company and serves as a key resource to resolve tax issues arising from business operations.</li> <li> Identifies gaps and process improvement opportunities; recommends solutions that improve the way in which the business operates and handles its business.</li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b> Legislation</b></p> <ul> <li> Advises management and business units of applicable U.S. and foreign legislative, regulatory and judicial tax matters and recommend appropriate tax policies and actions.</li> <li> Directs the conduct of special studies to determine impact of new tax legislation and management proposals.</li> <li> Actively monitors changing tax elements, including legislative changes in designated international locations and helps anticipate the financial impact and implications of their enactment. This often entails direct interaction with the host country revenue authorities and outside counsel with hands-on support to the local businesses.</li> <li> May represent the company before U.S. and foreign legislators, committees, and tax/revenue governmental agencies – obtain tax rulings and agreements from the governmental taxing agencies.</li> <li> Independent research of U.S. and foreign tax laws as needed to support ChampionX tax positions.</li> <li> Works independently to provide tax counseling and management of external tax counsel.</li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b> Audit</b></p> <ul> <li> Conduct and manage controversy proceedings for unagreed audit issues including appeals, settlement negotiations, and litigation.</li> <li> Establish and maintain processes designed to identify, assess, and calculate uncertain tax position calculations.</li> <li> Supports the audit process whereby assistance is obtained and provided to support responses to tax audit exceptions and enquiries.</li> <li> Supports finance on all on-site tax audits in designated international locations; formulates or supports responses to tax audit exceptions and participates in on-site audit meetings and negotiations; seeks to resolve any exceptions to the benefit of ChampionX.</li> <li> Interface on host country tax audits with foreign revenue authorities; coordinate information flow and preparation of company positions to auditors to ensure conformity of response in compliance with all U.S. and foreign tax laws.</li> <li> Coordinate with international aspects of federal tax audits and controversies; coordinate and monitor IRS correspondence, notices, audits, etc., and respond as appropriate.</li> <li> Analyze, document, and defend tax return filing positions to include preparation of FIN 48 requirements.</li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b> Transfer Pricing</b></p> <ul> <li> Coordinates with tax compliance for global transfer pricing, including intercompany goods, services, intellectual property, intercompany financing arrangements, etc. Coordinates globally among Business Units, Treasury, Risk/Insurance, Accounting, Contracts, Supply Chain and Tax.</li> <li> Provides guidance, oversight and manage certain aspects of compliance with relevant BEPS initiatives.</li> <li> Engages in transfer pricing initiatives and ensure compliances supports transfer pricing policies</li> <li> Applies complex transfer pricing concepts and economic/financial knowledge to resolve client challenges.</li> <li> Provides a fully integrated approach to transfer pricing by preparing documents and assisting in defending transfer pricing in audits.</li> <li> Supplies innovative transfer pricing and economic ideas, alongside responsive services and work products.</li> <li> Modelling financial outcomes, valuing intangible assets and developing practical planning approaches.</li> </ul> <p></p> <p><b> Compliance Support</b></p> <ul> <li> Support Tax Compliance group and coordinate with foreign offices on ongoing tax matters to ensure optimum tax position for the company while complying with federal, state, local and foreign tax laws and regulations.</li> <li> Coordinates with the tax compliance group, such that all relevant information regarding designated international locations is available for use in maximizing use of NBL’s tax attributes, foreign tax credits, foreign sourcing, etc.</li> <li> Monitors and supports Tax Department on cash repatriation from foreign jurisdictions, reviewing and advising on payment of dividends, foreign earnings and profit calculations; and manages documentation and governance processes of same.</li> <li> Coordination with foreign offices and outside counsel to ensure compliance with foreign tax laws and filing requirements.</li> <li> Stays abreast of changing tax elements, including legislative changes in the various countries and helps anticipate the financial impact and implications of their enactment. This may entail direct interaction with the host country finance/tax personnel and hands-on support to local business personnel.
