Bring your talent and join the Lilly team today!</p> <p></p> <h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b> Primary Responsibilities:</b></h2> <ul> <li> Lead the structuring, drafting, negotiating and counseling on transactions (including, licenses and collaborations, R&amp;D services, equity investments, divestitures and other transactions).</li> <li> Serve as both a legal and business partner in structuring and implementing new Catalyze360 offerings and transaction models.</li> <li> Develop agreement templates and playbooks as well as lead training for the Catalyze360 team.</li> <li> Identify and resolve critical legal and business issues throughout the duration of the lifecycle of Catalyze360 agreements, including but not limited to, post-transaction alliance management support.</li> <li> Partner with the Catalyze360 team and other key internal functional partners to ensure strategic alignment and partner to grow the infrastructure of the scaling Catalyze360 organization.</li> <li> Exercise excellent judgment to influence and drive decision-making.</li> <li> Cultivate and contribute to the ongoing development of a high-performance transaction legal team and cultivate a highly collaborative culture with effective relationships with colleagues in the legal department as well as other key functions.</li> <li> Demonstrate a customer-focused approach to advising internal client groups.</li> <li> Recognized source, for both senior management and other attorneys, of innovative ideas in complex areas of law, business, or technology, with respect to transactional matters.</li> </ul> <p></p> <h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b> Basic Requirements:</b></h2> <ul> <li> J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.</li> <li> Admitted to the bar in at least one of the fifty states.</li> <li> Minimum of six years of legal experience related to drafting, review and negotiation of sophisticated transactions either practicing as a member of a law firm in a relevant area of law or practicing at an in-house law department, or a combination of the two. Significant experience specific to the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry is required.</li> </ul> <p></p> <h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b> Additional Skills/Preferences:</b></h2> <ul> <li> Excellent verbal and written communication skills, business judgment with an ability to influence others.</li> <li> Proactively see opportunities for creative and innovative solutions to transactional issues and process improvements.</li> <li> Professional demeanor and ability to interact at a senior level with persuasiveness, confidence, credibility and a collaborative approach. Must possess the gravitas to lead and influence a seasoned business team.</li> <li> Fast and nimble, able to adjust between audiences and provide sound legal and business advice in a punctual fashion.</li> <li> Must be a great teammate who is collaborative and resourceful, but also have ability to work independently.</li> <li> The ability to see the "big picture" and yet be highly organized and efficient, with demonstrated attention to detail.</li> <li> Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel, while setting appropriate priorities and deadlines and delivering results on time. Operate with immediacy while remaining flexible, open-minded, and adaptable when working in a rapidly changing environment.</li> <li> Analytic and strategic with the ability to devise creative solutions to effectively drive toward recommendations and closure.</li> <li> Impeccable integrity and ability handle confidential and sensitive matters with discretion.</li> <li> Assist other attorneys and collaborators in resolving legal issues on cross-functional projects.</li> <li> Develop long and short-term solutions that take into account the current and future needs of the business.</li> <li> Lead the selection and oversight of outside counsel, control and appropriately manage legal costs.</li> </ul> <p></p> <h2 class="jobSectionHeader"><b> Additional Information:</b></h2> <p> Lilly currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from between $168,000 – $246,400 and will depend, in part, on the successful candidate’s qualifications for the role, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees, including eligibility to participate in a company-sponsored 401(k); pension; vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).Of course, the compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above.
