Interdepartmental Attorney Detroit

Honigman

Location
Michigan-Detroit
Description
Honigman LLP is seeking talented, energetic attorneys interested in dynamic legal work with sophisticated clients at a large law firm, but without the ancillary demands that come with pursuing partnership, to join the Interdepartmental Attorney (“IDA”) group. IDAs enjoy a rewarding career with opportunities for advancement that still affords time for the important things outside of work, providing a legal career that fits their busy lives without sacrificing their ambitions.The IDA position is part of Honigman’s industry-setting Professional Attorney Track. Redefining the big-law career, the Professional Attorney Track is a non-partnership career trajectory that provides multiple opportunities for career advancement for attorneys that have the ambition and talent to work on big-law matters, but who seek more flexibility for their life outside of work. IDAs routinely work right alongside Honigman partnership-track attorneys. However, because it is not a partnership-track position, the IDA position has lower billable-hour requirements and no business development obligations, while still offering multiple levels of promotional opportunities. Honigman Interdepartmental Attorneys gain broad experience through assignments and training across the Firm’s six departments – Corporate, Litigation, Intellectual Property, Real Estate, Labor & Employment, and Regulatory – though a significant number of IDA assignments pertain to mergers & acquisitions, private equity, or litigation e-discovery projects. IDAs can pursue an interdepartmental career path or develop a practice focus through their Honigman work experience and progress into a Professional Attorney Track role in a specific practice group. Beyond traditional legal work, IDAs are also key members of the Firm’s efforts to adopt new practice technologies, legal project management functions, product/service development, outside counsel guidelines, and other business-of-law issues. At least 2 years of experience in due diligence and/or litigation discovery experience, including working with document collections, searches, reviews, and productions;
