The ideal candidate will have experience with real estate litigation, business disputes and complex contracts, construction litigation, design professional liability claims, and policyholders’ insurance coverage in state and federal court, and meet the following basic requirements: Undergraduate and JD degrees from accredited academic institutions Current WSBA membership At least five years of experience in complex litigation Excellent time and project management skills Self-motivated and able to move matters forward strategically and thoughtfully Attention to detail Strong legal research and writing skills Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Ability to work with multiple partners and effectively manage responsibilities for different cases. Prepare discovery and respond to requests (admissions, disclosures, interrogatories, depositions, orders, etc.). Attend and manage hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and court proceedings. Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs. Effectively communicate with clients and the managing attorney(s) to understand the client’s concerns and provide sound legal advice. Analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and research case law, statutes, regulations, and documents impacting the firm’s clients. Utilize strong written and critical thinking skills that lead to comprehensive and persuasive writing. Communicate clearly and logically (both orally and in writing) with clients, courts, and counsel. Organize and manage documents from multiple sources during multidistrict and other complex litigation. Ability to handle complex problems utilizing initiative, creativity, and sound professional judgment. Ability to maintain attention to detail and produce high-quality work.
