O’Melveny & Myers LLP is seeking a midlevel associate to join our Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group. Candidates should have four to six years of experience working in M&A specifically. The ideal candidates will have specific, substantive experience with public and private company transactions and the ability to handle both public company M&A transactions as well as private company M&A transactions, with an emphasis on public company M&A transactions. Clients would include major corporations as well as private equity sponsors and portfolio companies, and there would be significant client contact. Candidates should have a strong general corporate transactional background, including solid experience in drafting and reviewing sophisticated corporate documentation, as well as working knowledge of market terms and SEC and stock exchange rules and regulations applicable to public company M&A transactions. Candidates should be able to work in a team, but also be able to handle significant individual responsibilities. Superior academic credentials, coupled with strong written, interpersonal and communication skills, are required. Major transactional firm experience is preferred. The salary range in Los Angeles for this role is $310,000 - $365,000 and represents the firm’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting.
