We are currently seeking a Solicitor to join our vibrant Environment, Planning & Communities team within our Projects, Energy and Infrastructure practice in Melbourne. In this role you will work closely with Partner Heidi Asten, an accredited specialist in environmental and planning law working across the full spectrum of environmental and planning law including heritage, land access and indigenous cultural heritage as well as complex major projects across the energy, renewable energy, mining, transport, water and urban development sectors. Our national practice is highly regarded and is consistently ranked Band 1 for Environment and Planning (Chambers and Legal 500). You will have responsibility for contributing to an excellent customer service providing strategic advice, litigious and transaction services in relation to – environmental assessments and approvals for major energy and infrastructure projects; environmental incident management; environmental issues for decarbonisation, carbon trading, energy transition and resources; environmental policy development and ESG advisory; climate and sustainability target setting and reporting; contaminated land; transactional support such as due diligence and advice on contracts and sale agreements; specialist environmental and planning litigation; stakeholder relations and community interfaces; land assembly and compulsory acquisition. You will have extensive client exposure and opportunities to develop a network of relationships.
