Together with our partners and customers, we solve for a better understanding of our world and how things move through it. <b>If it's a thing, we're working to connect it.</b></p> <p><b>Team Overview:</b><br>As a member of our small and accomplished team of professionals in the Legal Department, you will partner on a broad set of issues and transactions. You will leverage your existing experience and background to address current needs for legal support to the business, and then over time, you will help the department address emerging needs by developing new expertise on top of your existing skills.<br>We are looking to hire a smart, seasoned attorney to join us as Corporate Counsel and help support and accelerate our growth. The position is Seattle-based, but we are willing to consider alternative locales if a candidate presents superior skills. We will evaluate candidates not only by the skills they possess today, but also by their commitment to excellence and their potential to grow with us.<br><b>What you will do:</b></p> <ul> <li>Manage and scale the day-to-day legal support for Impinj's business and operations with a high degree of independence.</li> <li>Counsel business clients, providing practical advice to resolve commercial problems and manage business risk, and giving input on a wide range of business issues as they arise in interactions with partners and accounts.</li> <li>Partner closely with the Impinj engineering, product management and marketing teams to advise on a range of compliance issues, regulations and industry standards, with a focus on intellectual property, licensing, privacy and data security.</li> <li>Work with outside counsel as needed, and manage in-house legal resources (e.g., para professionals and administrative personnel) to provide efficient, responsive, cross-functional company-wide support.</li> <li>Enhance the company's compliance programs through inter-departmental collaboration, including developing and conducting training and monitoring processes to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws.</li> <li>Partner effectively with the finance and legal teams to achieve a high level of awareness of, and compliance with, controls, policies and laws worldwide.</li> </ul> <p><b>What you will do:</b></p> <ul> <li>Juris doctor degree and license to practice law in a state in the U.S.</li> <li>Minimum of 4 years of experience with legal review, negotiation and drafting of complex commercial contracts, risk management, and management of the contracting function within a global organization.</li> <li>Superior analytical and writing skills with extensive experience with technology-related transactional agreements (including technology licenses and cloud services agreements), warranty provisions, intellectual property (IP) and IP indemnification, UCC and Incoterms, fair trade and antitrust law, and open-source software licenses.</li> <li>Familiarity with professional services, employment law, immigration law and real estate, financing, corporate and securities laws are a plus.</li> <li>Self-driven with a proven track record of success in a high-growth organization, ideally in software or high tech.</li> <li>Passionate, confident, highly competent professional; approachable and capable of working with people at all levels; smart and pragmatic; good listener, with an empathetic but forthright communication style.</li> <li>Able to scale effectively with the ebbs and flows of our business.</li> <li>High EQ individual, with a positive, down-to-earth attitude, but with the assertiveness and skill to advise professionals in complex negotiations.</li> <li>Salary and equity participation is locally competitive.</li> </ul> <p><b>Compensation and Benefits:</b><br>The benefits listed below may vary depending on the nature of your employment with Impinj and the country where you work.<br>The typical base pay range for this role across the US is $110,000 - 175,000. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties, requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Both market wage data and the mid-point of the pay range is reviewed and used as the starting point for all new hire offers. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.</p> <p>At Impinj certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
