Litigation Associate (3-5 PQE)

Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP

Job Description: Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP (“Curtis”), founded in New York in 1830, is an international law firm with a leading reputation in contentious work. Unlike many of its international law firm competitors, Curtis is particularly known for its work for sovereigns, representing over 50 sovereign states or state-owned entities globally on their high states disputes. Much of that work, including investment treaty disputes, commercial arbitrations and High Court litigation is handled out of the London office. The London office of Curtis is looking to recruit a litigation associate, with three to five years of post-qualification experience. In keeping with the firm’s culture, the selected candidate would be given considerable responsibility at an early stage as part of our growing litigation department in London. The London office provides an open, friendly and collaborative work environment, with competitive remuneration. If you are interested in this position and you meet the requirements of the role, please send a CV and short covering letter addressed to Ms Sophie Zoghbi at recruitmentlondon@curtis.com. Applications for this role will be accepted up and until 19 April 2024. We are not currently at this stage accepting applications made via external recruiters. Job Requirements: The successful candidate should have (among others): An excellent academic record; Trained and qualified in England & Wales, with three to five years of post-qualification experience (although we are prepared to be flexible in relation to this for the right candidate); Proven experience and interest in commercial litigation. While prior experience in investment or commercial arbitration may be considered, the role is intended to be focused within Curtis’ litigation practice; Good up-to-date knowledge of High Court practice; A driven, proactive and resourceful personality; Excellent drafting skills; Permission to work in the U.K. While not a requirement for the role, a second language, particularly French/Spanish/Arabic/Russian, would also be beneficial. Experience in sanctions is also desirable but not required.
