viDesktop Commercial Litigation Associate JOB TITLE: Commercial Litigation Associate LOCATION: Santa Monica, CA office POSITION SUMMARY Spencer Fane has an opening in our Santa Monica, CA office for a Commercial Litigation Associate with 3-5 years of experience. An ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in successfully executing legal strategy, taking depositions, motion practice, trial, arbitration, hearings, producing witnesses for depositions, and other key litigation events. Candidates must have law firm experience and previous experience advocating for clients. The candidate should have some experience with real estate or commercial construction litigation (not defect). Compensation: $165,000 to $175,000, plus opportunity for variable compensation on individual production Benefits include: Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, 401K, Paid Parental Leave, Group Life, and Disability QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school with an excellent academic record Admission to the California state bar Ability to interface directly with attorneys and clients Demonstrate an ability to work independently and productively Exceptional written and oral communication skills Strong decision-making, problem-solving and organization skills Outstanding judgement Ability to effectively handle multiple projects Ability to develop and implement legal strategies PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Position is generally sedentary in nature; involves sitting most of the time, but may involve the need for inter-office mobility for brief periods of time Ability to occasionally or routinely lift up to 10 – 20 lbs.
