Description
King & Spalding seeks a mid-level associate to support its patent prosecution and technology transactions practices. The associate will have a high degree of autonomy working with clients to identify and solicit possible inventions, develop patent application strategies and priorities, draft and prosecute patent applications, and provide counseling to clients on intellectual property issues related to their portfolios. The candidate should also have technology transactions drafting and negotiation experience, particularly in connection with complex technology agreements, and experience working on IP transactions (such as technology licensing agreements, reseller and distribution agreements, e-commerce agreements, outsourcing arrangements, software development agreements, content licensing deals, other technology matters), and/or IP due diligence experience relating to M&A and other corporate transactions. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of three years of prior experience with patent prosecution and technology transactions at a firm or in-house; strong academic credentials, writing ability, and attention to detail; experience interfacing with clients and managing client relationships; and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and offices. A mechanical or chemical background is required.
