Position Type: Full time; Exempt Location: Los Angeles (Downtown) or Silicon Valley (Redwood City) preferred, but open to New York applicants. DTO Law (dtolaw.com) is a sophisticated boutique law firm with offices in Los Angeles, Silicon Valley and New York. We are looking for a highly motivated litigation associate to join our growing team. DTO Law is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Associate to join our diverse civil practice with a focus on class action defense, complex commercial litigation, and intellectual property litigation. We are looking for candidates with at least 2-5 years of experience litigating, preferably in both federal and California state courts. Excellent written and communication skills and academic credentials from a top-tier law school. A federal clerkship is a plus. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on high-stakes litigation matters, including cases involving highly complex legal issues. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The Junior/Mid-Level Attorney may have to perform other duties as assigned. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation strategies. Participate in all stages of discovery, including document productions, depositions, and expert witness preparation. Draft legal pleadings, briefs and other required documents. Attend hearings, mediations and other legal proceedings. Communicate with clients, opposing counsel and experts. Billing requirement: 1,750 hours per year. Qualifications JD from a top law school. Excellent academic credentials. Admitted to practice in California or New York, but strong preference for California-barred attorney. 2-5 years of litigation experience. Motivated, entrepreneurial spirit with enthusiasm for developing clients and growing a legal practice. Excellent communication, writing and research skills. Team player with a “can do” attitude. Salary and Benefits We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and offer an excellent salary and benefits package. Lockstep salary range based on class year is $165,000 – $227,500 for 1,750 hours (associates who bill 1,825 or 1,900 receive additional guaranteed compensation). Benefits start the first day of the month following start date, including 401K enrollment.
