Associate (NQ-3) - Property & Liability - Reinsurance Team - London office We are looking for an Associate (NQ-3) to join our Property & Liability Reinsurance Team to be based in our London office. Our reinsurance practice is widely regarded as the leading team of lawyers in the market. We have been involved in some of the largest reinsurance transactions, preparing wordings for some of the most complex policies and handling the most important disputes, that have shaped reinsurance law over the last two decades. Our clients include international reinsurance and insurance companies as well as many of the leading syndicates and companies in the London market. Our global practice covers both contentious and non-contentious matters and has deep experience in both life and general insurance. We have a broad practice, handling issues ranging from complex major claims to volume services and have experience across every class including aviation, casualty and healthcare, energy and engineering, financial institutions/D&O, fraud, marine, professional indemnity, property, political risk, regulatory risk, surety and TMT. Our global team delivers specialist insurance experience worldwide. We advise clients on a range of matters, from drafting policies, wordings reviews, or claims handling through to advising on the largest and most complex international disputes for the London market and international insurers, as well as structuring global programmes and regulatory matters. The core work of the reinsurance team is disputes-focussed with high value and complex arbitrations on a range of matters related to reinsurance contracts. The Role Broad-ranging coverage work to include the following: Handling international (re)insurance disputes. Advising insurers and others on liability and regulation. Drafting and advising on insurance and reinsurance wordings Advising on global insurance programmes covering multinationals Essential Skills & Experience The successful candidate will have: Qualified as a solicitor or barrister in England & Wales or another relevant jurisdiction, for example New York. Have a desire to pursue a specialism in insurance coverage and reinsurance. Experience of or a demonstrable interest in reinsurance. Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
