Donahue Fitzgerald, LLP is seeking a senior attorney for our Construction Litigation practice in our Oakland office. The position will provide hands-on support for highly challenging and interesting legal assignments. This position will support multiple partners and practice groups. Annual minimum billable hours requirement is 1610, with the opportunity to earn a bonus for hours worked in excess of the minimum Job Duties Manage multiple complex construction and real estate litigation cases Propose litigation strategy and offer legal advice to clients regarding construction and real estate disputes Communicate with clients and opposing counsel Draft reports, pleadings, discovery, and motions Take and defend depositions, argue motions, and participate in mediations and trials Provide guidance on construction and real estate contracts to mitigate risk and support project success Knowledge and Skills JD degree from an accredited law school Must be a member in good standing with the California State Bar 5+ years of litigation background, preferably with extensive experience in construction disputes; construction contract negotiation and drafting experience is a plus Excellent legal writing skills for drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, legal documents, correspondence, and reports Must be detail oriented Must be a self-starter with superior organizational skills and the ability to independently manage multiple assignments and deadlines Strong analytical, research and writing skills Ability to mentor and supervise junior associates and build strong relationships This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established firm that offers interesting work, great prospects, a collaborative working environment, and competitive benefits with a path to partnership. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for a position. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $160,000-$190,000.
