Summary of the Position: As an immigration attorney in our dynamic and diverse, 160-person, Chambers-ranked Business Immigration and Global Mobility Practice, you will be responsible for advising our multinational client base on matters of Canadian immigration law. The U.S. immigration practice is complemented by a Global Mobility team within Seyfarth Shaw who are dedicated to global immigration cases. Members of our in-house Global Mobility team include, among others, attorneys licensed to practice in Canada, Germany, Ireland and the United Kingdom. For other countries, we have established business partnerships with premier providers of global immigration services covering more than 90 foreign jurisdictions. We pride ourselves on our technology-focused, lean six sigma approach to case preparation and management. Required Skills & Abilities: A successful candidate should have the knowledge, skills and abilities to: process temporary resident applications such as TRVs, LMIA-exempt work permits and LMIAs as well as Permanent Residency applications such as Express Entry and PNPs effectively manage client relationships and a team of paralegals for high-volume clients, explain sophisticated immigration concepts and present strategic solutions for clients, supervise case handlers in preparing petitions/applications, and effectively manage complex projects under tight deadlines. Those who are successful in our environment are able to: multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, navigate complex technology platforms efficiently, communicate effectively in writing and verbally, as appropriate for the needs of the audience (clients, governmental agencies, internal and external resources), use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, and approaches to problems, contribute to a positive work environment, and demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills. Educational and Experience Requirements: A successful candidate will be admitted to the Canadian bar with active bar status 4-7 years of Canadian immigration experience
