They are Integrity, Teamwork, Passion for Winning, Ownership and Leadership.</p> <p> Forbes recently recognized Newell Brands on its list of Best Employers for Women 2023.</p> <p></p> <p><b>Overall Purpose</b><br> <br> Reporting to the Lead Segment Counsel of Newell Brands Home and Commercial Segment, the Senior Business Counsel is responsible for supporting the lead Segment Counsel in day-to-day legal affairs. The Senior Business Counsel will directly interface with and deliver advice to business counterparts in the Company. The Senior Business Counsel will primarily support the Newell Brands Procurement teams in contract drafting, review, negotiation, and training. Responsibilities may also include, among others, contract review and negotiation of commercial agreements; marketing and advertising claims advice; regulatory compliance research and advice; administration of legal topics training; supporting company data privacy program; and support on key strategic initiatives, including reorganizations, mergers _38_ acquisitions, and ecommerce matters. The role also entails working with other internal specialized attorneys and other roles within the Company on certain areas such as intellectual property, employment counseling, regulatory matters, and product liability, as well as working collaboratively with international legal team members. The Senior Business Counsel role presents a great opportunity for engaging on a breadth of interesting legal topics and interfacing with company clients at all levels and functions at a global consumer goods company delivering a diverse range of consumer products through multi-channel capabilities.</p> <p> </p> <p>This Senior Business Counsel role is based out of Newell Brands• corporate headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. Newell Brands• current work from home policy at this location and for this role is minimum 3 days per week in the office.<br> <br> <b>Specific Accountabilities</b></p> <ul> <li>Primary legal support for Procurement function: Serve as primary legal counsel supporting North America Procurement function. Key responsibilities include reviewing, and negotiating procurement agreements, such as master services agreements, master purchase of goods agreements, capital equipment supply agreements, consulting agreements, software licensing and service agreements, staffing agreements, purchase orders, and non-disclosure agreements. Providing strategic counsel to Procurement team members regarding ongoing vendor relationships, risk mitigation, and dispute management. Collaborate and coordinate with international and regional team legal team members on drafting, negotiating, and executing agreements.</li> <li>Business segment legal support: Counsel business segment clients on wide range of legal issues, which may include advertising and marketing claims, data privacy regulations, compliance, product safety, antitrust, product packaging and labelling, regulatory matters, or pre-litigation disputes. Assist in acquisition and divestiture activities.
